Based upon recommendations from the University of Florida, Florida Lawn Handbook, Lee County Best Management Practices and our years of experience at Pro Cut Lawn Care.
- Sharp Mower Blades to cut the grass instead of tearing.
- Mow no more than 1/3 of leaf of grass.
- Water in Pre Dawn hours ex. 2-8 AM
- Irrigation Systems need to apply water uniformly and saturate the root zone of the turf grass.
- Do not irrigate daily for a few minutes, this will not provide enough water to roots, but will help any turf grass pathogens.
- If disease present, increase mowing height to allow leaf tissue to repair itself with photosynthesis. Wash mower and remove clippings after cutting a diseased prop
erty.
- Nutrition for the lawn must be balanced with regards to Nitrogen.
Too Much N= encourages Brown Patch and Gray Leaf Spot
Not Enough N= encourages Dollar Spot
